For a long time now I have wanted a print of my friend’s photography. She takes fantastic panoramic photos of my hometown. They make me feel a little nostalgic and homesick. They’re absolutely gorgeous. However, she is an absolute perfectionist and refuses to print any of her panoramic photos until she has found the right type of paper for them. A while back, she tried professional photo paper but didn’t enjoy the quality. Then she found luster photo paper.

This paper is absolutely perfect for large format prints of photography, especially panoramic photos. This is because the paper is a little thicker. It doesn’t curl as much when saturated with ink like other types of thinner paper do. If you have a great printer that has good rollers on it, you can print without any curl at all!

Luster photo paper also comes with a pebbled finish to hide fingerprints and other smudges that are put on the photo after printing. During printing, these little pebbled marks are intended to help the ink saturate the paper at a faster rate so as to dry faster. This decreases the chances of the ink smudging while printing.

Luster photo paper is absolutely phenomenal for large scale panoramic prints.

Shopping online for photo paper might be a little frustrating if you don’t know all the lingo. Matte, glossy, luster, inkjet, professional and quality papers are available online at several sellers, but what kind of paper do you need for your project?

Luster photo paper is actually a great compromise of all the different types of paper. It falls somewhere between the flat look of matte paper and the shiny finish of glossy paper. The surface of this paper is a little textured to hide finger prints when it is printed on. It also means that there will be no puddling of ink on the page as it is drying.

But what exactly is the best use of luster photo paper? This extremely high definition paper is meant for very high quality images. A lot of photographers are using this kind of paper for actor headshots and wedding photos. The kind of photos that need to look their best for a long time to come.

This kind of luster paper is a great product but not without it’s own vernacular. Now that you’ve settled on luster photo paper for your project, you must decide what KIND of luster paper. You can choose between adhesive, two sided, silky, and heavy luster.
